Thinking of you!

Dear Professor,

I can say without a doubt that you have been one of my favorite and most influential professors in my college career. I have had the honor of having you as a professor for multiple semesters where each time you have managed to bring a different level of learning to the classroom. You're passion for teaching, along with your brilliance has made me excited to learn and eager to know what you have to teach next! How you relate the classroom to the real world with the various examples and speakers has given me hope of prevailing and becoming successful after graduation in this down economy. Thank you for your wisdom and influence, you have taught me things that I will carry with me and reflect on throughout life.
I look forward to hearing news of your speedy and full recovery; until then, you will be missed in the classroom and around Elliot Hall.

Sincerely,

Jessica Cercone

  1. Professor,

I wanted to wish you all the best right now. I know sometimes the down times seem endless, but they're part of a cycle. Your optimism, strength, a good heart will get you through this difficult battle.

I have to say your presence is truly missed on Tuesday nights. After just a few weeks, I quickly regretting not taking a class of yours sooner. You truly are a teacher. I appreciate your care for your craft and your students, both of which shine inside and outside the classroom.

Please take care of yourself. I can't wait to hear a report of your full and speedy recovery and hopefully, your return to the classroom!! :)

    All my best!

  3. Hi Professor Bhargava!

I miss you so much! You have been such a big impact in my life and I always tell people about you. So glad to have had so many marketing classes with you and absorb your knowledge. I wish there were more teachers out there that cared as much as you. Unfortunately, I can count how many in my life have made an impact. So thank you for being one of them. :)

Thank you so much for taking everyone under your wing and providing so many ways of learning. You made it interesting, always! I greatly appreciated that. (I am not one to enjoy going to school) but I was always able to stay focused in your classes.

California is treating me well, although stiiillll looking for a job. It is a tough process when I do not have such a big network out here as a did in Michigan. (I realize the HUGE importance of networking since moving to somewhere that I knew no one.)

I hope to be landing a job soon(crossing my fingers) Looking at the company Eleven Inc. right now. I just met someone who is the account manager and she turned in my resume for me. :) wahhoo! If you know any leads out here let me know. :)

Take it easy, relax, get better! I also was curious if it is okay to still have you as one of my job references? If not, no problem. I would love it if you were though- it would mean a lot, understandable if it is not a good timing to be getting phone calls from California folks. Please let me know. I will try to email you directly about it as well.

Hugs hugs hugs! Sending you some nice sunny, warm weather from California! Also- rootbeer floats always made me feel better. :)

Thinking of you and I Miss you! Keep in touch.

  5. Professor Bhargava,

I'm truly sorry that I haven't posted earlier to pass along my thoughts and prayers to you and your family. It came as a shock to me to hear that you were no longer in the classroom inspiring students, but I was not shocked to see how much support and love the students have for you.

I can't even begin to tell you how much you've inspired me and what a huge impact you've instilled in me. I just finished a MGT class with Professor Simon and on the first day of class he asked us to go around the room and share what we like/dislike about learning. When it was my turn, I couldn't pinpoint what in particular I liked/disliked, but the first thing that came to mind was "My favorite professor is Mukesh Bhargava!" And I said it most importantly because you've left a footprint throughout my education.

The first day of your Mrkt 302 class I didn't know what to expect, but what I walked away with was more than just understanding and applying concepts. I felt that I got to know you on a personal level and I saw first hand how you truly care for your students. Your classroom was full of life, entertainment and surprises and it showcased how wonderful of a person you are. You showcased how wonderful learning can be! You've taught me to think outside the box- to explore. And if I wasn't a decided Finance major, you would have pulled me to the marketing side. I mean you really are an inspiration!

I hope you are doing well and staying strong! I pray that next time I hear news from you, you are walking around the classroom (getting in your exercise of course) and throwing out jolly ranchers. I'd also like to come visit you like old times and take a seat in your comfy office chair!

Please take care and I wish you a speedy recovery. The business school isn't the same without you!
